Good Morning, Im new to this forum. I dont know if i am posting this thread in the wrong area of the forum and if i am i apologize. Like many here I love tools and working with my hands. My father is a former heavy line mechanic at a ford lincoln mercury dealer. Im a diy mechanic who works on my three vehicles. Anyway thats my introduction. I came across a couple of threads yesterday that i really enjoyed but did not finish looking through. I remember the titles to the threads but i would like your help in relocating them. They are called lets see your toolbox and lets see your tool cart. I really enjoyed seeing others setups from the small to the enormous. How can i relocate those threads or posts?

There's a search button at the top of the page, click on it and then select 'advanced search'. Then you put in the words you're searching on and narrow the search to a single folder. However, for whatever reason the search function doesn't work on words that are three letters or less; you can also search the site using Google, which sometimes gets better results.

Let's see your toolbox: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=466

Welcome! You've come to a great place for information with a ton of great members.

I agree that google is sometimes the best way to search for a thread on here. Usually is quicker for me

Welcome to the forums!

Most browsers will store your browsing history, in Firefox, for example, hit the ALT button to bring up the top menu, and click on the 'History' tab. :)

In the future if you find a thread you want to save for later viewing you can subscribe to it. On the blue bar at the top of each thread directly above the first post is a tab that says "thread tools". Click that and then click "subscribe to this thread" in the drop down box. It will then ask you if you want to be notified of future posting in the thread, pick your preference and press "add subscription". Note: if you choose instant email notification for a busy thread like the hot deals index you will get a LOT of emails.

Once you have set a subscription to a thread you can click "user cp" on the left of the black bar directly below the Garage Journal logo. It will take you to a list of your subscribed threads with new post (if none of you subscribed threads have new post it will be blank). You can then click "view all subscribed threads" on the right side and it will give you a list of all threads, new and old, you have subscribed to.

This is how I save things for later viewing and also how I stay up to date on threads I have posted in that may need a reply from me. Hope this helps!
