I am new to the journal, always have some kind of project going and sometimes need people to bounce ideas off. I'm retired and we just sold our farm so our new place won't need as much work. But have to put our stamp on it.

We are moving to Big Lake, about 6 miles east of Mount Vernon, WA. Our farm was near Rogue River, OR. It was named the Funny Farm. I was going to add an image but need to figure out how.

Rick: now i recall Big Lake cause it's off Hwy 9. your FUNNY FARM sounds nice and to download pictures i click on the paperclip just above and in the middle where you are writing your posts and attach pictures sort of like attaching pictures to an email. PM (private message me with your email if you have any more questions or i bet you'll figure it out).

also when i take pictures on my cell phone i then email them to myself and save the pictures off my emails to my laptop for future use. i know there are easier and/or other ways to do any of this, but this works for me and as you can see i post a lot on this forum.

here's a link to a few of the more local guys that i started a PNW thread a couple years ago if you might want to check in on us as well as other parts of this great site.

Where in in WA are you located? Curious if you get the rain we have been getting.
I'm getting out and doing dome exploring trying to find good fishing lakes'

good to see you were able to post up some cool pictures of your old farm and of that cool old truck you own. or did you sell it?

anyway i live almost exactly between Tacoma and Seattle just above Puget Sound. do we get rain? well i had to ask the owner of the storage facility i rent some storage at (yes i'm looking for my dream garage with a home my wife will live in still) if i could borrow an empty unit so i could take advantage of Organizing my unit in the 15 minute times we don't have any rain last month. looks like the rain is still falling in April too.

as far as fishing holes i think that those secrets are guarded as safely as old anvils locations. i heard on the news today that Poulsbo is allowing the indians to hunt seals again cause the seals are eating too many salmon and laying around on the docks at their marinas.

best of luck with the fishing and if you might like to catch and release bass my FIL (father in law) was a tournament fisherman around Washington and Oregon so he might have some tips on where the big uns or some are.

cheers and again welcome to the forum. you probably could start a thread on that truck of yours if you had all the pictures of before and after if you did the restoration and i'm sure more than a few members would like to see it.

Andy (oldironfarmer) just picked up a couple rusty trucks and i'm sure you'd like him and his thread so here's a link to his thread that is one of my favorites.

if you have questions about GJ just ask or PM a mod if you have any issues with a member or questions you can't do a search and find answers.
