I couldn't find a techinical data sheet for the product on their site so I am just speculating here, but the application instructions say it has a pot life of *8 hours* :shocking:

100% solids epoxy (ie: the good stuff) has a much shorter pot life. Around 60-90 minutes. I used a solvent-based product (approx 75-80% solid) in my garage and the pot life was 2-4 hours. I can't imagine what they put in Original Color Chips to make the pot life so long.

Basically, you extend pot life by adding stuff that ISN'T epoxy. It's like mixing a drink. You can have two 8oz rum 'n Cokes, but the one with 3 shots of rum is going to be stronger than the drink with 1 shot. The drink with 3 shots is also going to cost more. Finally, if your goal is to get drunk, the 3 shot, more expensive, drink will do a better job.

Garage Epoxy paints are the same way.
