Hi- new to site..
I am renovating a garage and want to add storage and make it look good and functional...saw garage org website and there are so many systems.

I dont want poor quality but I am not a formula 1 garage shop...

Looking for attractive sturdy system...

I also want to have a great work bench that can handle wood working hobby and modeling hobby...

Any suggestions....

My budget is $7500 to $10.....

Lastly - looking for great rectangle (hopefully LED)lighting

Thoughts and suggestions would be great...

Thx
Kevin

Welcome to this great site. Suggest you look at the Garage Gallery section of the forum where you will find many examples of what other members have done in their own garages. Seeing actual installations and getting comments from actual users rather than looking at slick sales info should get you closer to understanding what you really like and what will fit your needs.

Like Glen said, the Gallery section is chock full on ideas/info.

I spent, literally, 15-20 hours just in that sub forum alone grabbing ideas before starting my build. Then....use the search function to find specific threads on the topics you mentioned. There is a storage solutions thread here that has thousands of posts, and more ideas than you can conceive...use the search and you'll find it.

Have fun, and welcome!

Take a look at Sam's Club for workbenches and storage ideas too...I have some of their "UltraHD" line and really like it for the price. Another storage idea I plan on working on this summer is building a loft/shelf over the garage door to store items I use less frequently.

I like non-permanent...so workbenches and cabinets on wheels are great. You can reconfigure later, and you can always move them out to clean. I regularly wheel my bench outside on nice days.

As far as lighting, I had 4' strip LED lights from Costco that did a great job of lighting up the space. I'm converting to recessed cans this spring, but only because I vaulted my garage ceiling last week and have wide open access.

Being from Long Island, you may also want to budget/consider heating and maybe a ceiling fan for the summer.
