I just got a few tool benches that I'm rather impressed with.

I was at a crossroads between buying a few large & cheaper quality boxes that I would not be happy with or try to buy ones I would not be able to afford such as Snap On or Matco boxes.

Also the size of many of the Harbor Freight & Husky brands were really smaller than what I wanted.

Searching the local CraigsList I found an ad for boxes made by DragonFire tools. I ended up ordering 3 boxes for my new garage. They just came in his weekend.

They have quite a few different versions.
At $1600 & up they aren't cheap boxes, but compared to a $7000 snap on box they are an excellent value.

Here's their site if you are looking for more info.

My lighting is terrible in may garage as I'm still putting in wiring/lights, so I'll get a few in the building instead of stock photos when I get some better quality photos.

Nice boxes and should hold enough for most any of us. How are they priced in relation to cubic inches of Lista?

(Sorry, it's foggy here today, www.dragonfiretools.com doesn't make me think of heavy duty tool boxes; Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon or the flying-fire-breathing-telepathic-dragons from Anne McCaffery's "Dragonriders of Pern" were what came to mind.)

Can you list the drawer dimensions? Their Web page is severely lacking in this area.

They look pretty cool....I wonder if any GJ member has one and can comment.

My only nit-pick would be the racket this thing is going to make when you are pounding away at an object on the work surface.

I will elaborate more as I get time. Hopefully I can get some dimensions today & post tomorrow.

I plan to put a rubber mat on top of the bench... was looking at the 3/4" thick stall mats that tractor supply sells, or something similar.

Anyone else have any info on these boxes?
12 Guage is thicker than I've seen anywhere that I recall

These appear to be the same cabinets manufactured by Suihe. http://www.suihetech.com/products_list/pmcId=41.html

I have 7 of their cabinets and workbenches in various styles. They are great cabinets. I have bought all mine at auctions most of them through Ritchie Brothers. I found out about them when someone who bought one at a Ritchie Bros Auction learned he was being transferred overseas for work. I was offered the cabinet cheap if I would go pick it up at the auction yard. I took a chance only looking at the pictures from the Auction and I am glad I did. I have since bought 6 more. They have ranged from $400-800.

I have to say I do like the look of the pulls better from Dragonfire

The attached pic as taken at the auction was the last one I bought.

Messaged dragonfire on Facebook last night and got a reply this morning. He just dropped a mockup of a new cabinet that has 4' drawers for larger tools. The depth of the drawers is 3" for the shallow and 6" for the deep.

Actual inside drawer width is 19.25" and 42.75"

Those look pretty nice, too bad they don't have a corner piece.

Guys... I'm trying to get better pictures & show the boxes with some tools in them.
I just finished my lighting circuits in Sunday & 20 lights came in today, so after this weekend, I should have enough light to properly show them off.

As stated above they are roughly 3" or 6" high inside & the small box has 4 rows 17-1/2" wide drawers & the large boxes have 5 rows of 19-1/4" drawers.

All deep drawers have double rails.

Structurally, they put a typical Kobalt or Husky box to shame.
I was ready to buy Husky boxes & connect a few together before I found these...
It's all about cost effectiveness to me.

Like anyone else, I would love to have MAC, Snap-On, or Matco boxes but they are 3x the price of the Dragonfire boxes. For the price I couldn't pass these up.

Those look pretty good for the price. I wish they made some smaller ones though. If I was redoing my whole garage they'd be great, but I'd be really tempted by a 4ft or 5ft setup now. Especially with the long drawers.

I have a friend who has 4 of the newer boxes like the pics posted by Lonnie. One of them is a tall upright that measures over 7ft 7inches tall on the wheels and 84 inches wide with two sets of open door cabinets on the top. The other 3 are the workbenches, one is a 20 drawer, one a 12 drawer and one a 30 drawer. He said he dumped his Snap-On box on CL and used the money to get these 4 units and still had money left over. For what he said he paid, I was damn impressed.

Dragonfire Tools is having the benches made to their specifications, so I'm sure as the business grows, they may increase their selection of sizes etc.

I seriously considered one of the large cabinets for storage. They are huge.

The 4 my buddy in Kentucky bought from Dragon Fire are definitely higher quality than the ones I've seen at Ritchie Bros. The ones at Ritchie were something like 20 gage steel and only weighed about 350lbs. The Dragonfire ones weigh 870lbs and are made from 12 or 14 gage steel. They might look similar, but they are definitely different. I called them and talked to Lou who spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with me and answered all my questions. I'm not in the market now, but will be in a few months when I get my other shop completed.

Mine are 12 and 14 gauge..... so not sure of the differences in cabinets...

I am not trying to downplay the quality of the other cabinets as I like many aspects including the pulls and drawer configurations. I was only posting that if folks like that style of cabinet there are some options are there at what I think are very reasonable prices for the quality you get.

I hear ya Duke. I wasn't trying to say the ones that you got were junk. I was just saying that I was at a Ritchie Bros Auction last year in Virginia and that the ones that I put hands on were junk. :)

Sorry, no good pictures, but I'm using them in their temporary location, still on their shipping stands.

I'm happy with them so far.

FYI... The drawer fronts are adjustable in case you want to adjust for alignment.

I've rearranged the drawers a few times as I find out where I want my tools located.
They release with 2 small tab on each slide.
