I have a Craftsman top and bottom box 41" wide. Im starting to outgrow and would love a nice SO box but they are big $$$$ Are the Mac boxes any good?

I would like a roller box only like 55 " long or longer that I could get all my stuff in. I looked at the Harbor freight boxes and they really are pretty heavy boxes ......

I'm in the same boat. There aren't any good deals on used boxes in my area, so I've been leaning towards something from strictlytoolboxes.com. The Mountain 56" box is 24 deep, and only $1000.

i dont buy ANY tool before i put my hands on it.
spec sheets and info are just that
the maufacturer trying to give you the best points of what he's selling, they never tell you its weak points.
i was recently looking to replace a welding hood, i searched the web, printed some pics and prices, then went to local welding suppliers to see the hoods i had picked out. neither local supplier could match prices.
if i hadnt seen them firsthand, i would have made a "bad" choice. not in quality or price, but in fitment, one hood felt better than the other on my head.

since you did that, I hope you bought the hood from one of the local shops, instead of going back home and buying it online.

one place i went, came within $25 of the web price, only if i took bought it "right now" . the 2nd place wouldnt budge on his price, that was $60 more.
plus tax.
the 1st place has always been helpful to me answering questions, i hate pushy people, and thats what made me walk away.
ive had dealings with the 2nd place before, i put a deposit down on a used mig a couple years ago, when i went back to pick it up 2 days later with cash in hand, i was informed that he sold it to someone else, and offered me $20 credit on a new welder. after argueing for 15 minutes, i finally got my $20 back in cash, just like a gave it to him, instead of the store credit he wanted to give me.

So to dig deeper into this, you did buy it at 1st place or not? Within $25 of the web price you had is pretty good seeing you would have it immediately and not have to pay shipping. So bought online?

1st place i went was $25 more than web price, i mentioned that i had another stop to make before i decided, even showed him the printed web page with the price, and no shipping cost.
if he woulda came down to the web price (plus tax), i would have bought it.
i didnt have to have it right at that moment, placed the order on fri, had my new hood via fed ex on tues am.
