Researching tool boxes is what brought me to this forum in the first place. Here is the box I bought.

I was online at Menards when I spotted this on a close out deal for $550. I liked the fact that it had 4 deeper drawers which is what I really need more of.

The old bench was a built in, probably made with the scraps from building the garage, I'm guessing sometime in the 1950's. I don't know for sure.

I replaced it with a Montezuma 72" stainless chest.

The two bottom drawers have dual roller slides, the others are single. They pull out all the way to access items in the back of the drawer so that's a plus to me. Rubber drawer liners were included.

The drawers have a roller detent on them to keep the drawers closed. They require more effort to open and close than I would like for a box that doesn't get moved around. I hope they break in and become easier with time.

The side cabinet door has a shelf on the inside that is also stainless. The door can be easily removed if you would rather have it as an open area. It's held shut by a magnet.

The bottom is medium duty it has a formed channel for strength. The rivnuts were all secure and I didn't have any problems mounting the wheels. The wheels were very nice double row ball bearing swivels with grease zerk and ball bearing axle on metal wheels with rubber/plastic tires.

Overall I would compare this box to the "better" Craftsmen boxes quality wise. I don't think I would pay the original asking price of $999 but for $550 on sale I'm happy with my purchase. I paid $700 for the 36" Masterforce next to it a few years ago as a special promo and it is a much heavier duty tool box.

Looks like a good deal for $550! I've also looked at those 36" Masterforce boxes and think they are a pretty nice box and probably under-rated, or rather under-publicized, here on GJ. Particularly like their drawer sizes and configuration.

I considered that box when I saw it on the Sears online store a while back. Beautiful but too shallow for my needs. Like a few of my previous girlfriends.

Still, it looks like a good score for the money.

I like their stuff. If I ever get a new top box and roller cabinet, it'll be this, but in traditional red:
