I won't say that u have absolutely everything but my tool collection is pretty extensive. Im an industrial tech in a corrugated box plant. My boss is spending 500 bucks on each tech in the shop, most likely from MSc or Grainger, for Christmas but I can't think of anything that I don't already have. I thought about an M18 fuel 3/8 impact but I already have the 1/4 and 1/2 fuel impacts. Any suggestions.

is the gift for "working" tools, or "home/garage"

for me, thats a huge difference...

you could always upgrade what you have at work with the new stuff, take the old stuff home and add to your home tools....

Already have a thermal imaging camera. Never thought about upgrading and taking old ones home. I may just do that.

Kito .5t come along. Paired with a strap like this.
I love mine to death. Use it nearly every day for something different.
It hangs off my tool box handle so i always have it where ever i am!

Heres a size comparison. Hooks a bit stretched. 5ft chain.

You should post pictures of your current box and tools. Hopefully it will lead to better suggestions, but more importantly, I am selfishly curious and like seeing industrial tool sets!

What about Heli-coil insertion tools? Maybe even tangless? I don't know if you have access to Snap-on, but the super long ratchets they've been releasing can be handy. If you do any really high precision assembly work these ground flat stones are awesome.

I work out of two SO carts and I have a rigid gang box that I keep stuff that I seldom use. I'll take pics in the morning when I go to work and post so you guys can see what I'm working with.

How's your 3/4" drive setup look? Impact wrench? Impact sockets? Ratchet? Breaker bar? Chrome sockets?

OP, are you general maintenance or trade specific? I'm just going to throw a few things out that I'd like to upgrade/get for my maintenance gig. A good auto darkening welding hood, a set of long Allen sockets in both standard and metric (we buy from Grainger and I like Proto brands). A pullz-all battery puller, a better fluke meter (right now I'm rocking a 77iv), and some more lifting/pulling straps. I could go on, but then I'd be turning this into my wish list. :eyecrazy:

Here's what u have in the bottom drawer of my orange cart and my three drawer red cart. I also have a small gang box with seldom used tools like my air hammer, harness, 3/4 wright socket set, big dead blows, otc slide hammer set, master tap and die set, auto darkening welding helmet, etc. Shop supplies come a longs and straps in a variety of sizes.

Looks like you are missing a Chapman set, I actually like the Wadsworth Super Deluxe Mini-Ratchet or the Wera Tool Check Plus kits better than Chapman, but they all work.

Do you have automatic wire strippers?

Small butane torch?

I've always wanted a Mini-ductor...

I don't know if this would be possible.

But if I had pretty much all the tools I needed and had to scratch my head to come up with a way to get more, I would consider talking to your boss and see if you can give your $500 share to some deserving younger guy in the shop just starting out.

I’d get a really nice full set of drill bits and a nice tap and die set. Just those two items should put you in the 500 dollar range when buying quality sets. Plus I hate spending my own money on that stuff so that would be an easy choice for me.

I don't see any files in there at all. A good quality set of Swedish files will cost money, and are worth every penny.
