Haha, gotcha!
Hey guys, I've really been reading and searching thru here trying to figure out the best option for heating my garage. Its a standard 2 car attached garage, with no insulation on the two exterior (side) walls, as far as I know. I insulated the door over the weekend with some 1" R5 foam. I am renting the house, and I currently live in Oklahoma City. I will probably be moving (for work) within the next year to two years. Because of this, I don't want to do an expensive install. I would also like the option of taking the heater with me when I move.
Once my garage is heated, I'd probably be working in there at most twice a week (fixing up my truck and car).
At first I was going to just buy a propane "torpedo" style heater. Then I was referred to this site, and found out that while those heaters get the garage warmed up quick, they also put out a lot of condensation. A friend suggested a blue flame 20K BTU ventless heater (Feature Comforts from Lowe's) which he said heats things up nicely. He said he would help me install it via my NG line which goes to my water heater, which is in the garage.
I think what I would like to do is have the garage heated to about 40/45 F, then bump it up to the upper 50s for when I'm working. I would think this would prevent most (if not all) of the condensation since it isn't as big of a temperature jump. Would the heater my friend suggested do what I would like it to do?
I know I know, get the Dayton G73.
Two great recent threads that I've read about these heaters: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52138
