I just wanted to show off my latest craigslist finds and project.

Got the 3650 from a guy that bought it new about 6 years ago and used it once for a small cabinet project. I think I got a decent deal at $180.

I found the 893 for $100 and it doesn't look like it has been used much.

First project was to make a router extension for the table saw...

A nice beefy aluminum Woodpecker router plate.

Gluing up the 3/4" and 1/2" mdf... I need to get some more clamps!

Laminate on and trimmed up.

Hole for the plate done. It isn't perfect, but it was my first day using a router.

I wanted to make sure the wood frame didn't go anywhere since that is what attaches to the table saw, so I added some bracing.

I drilled three holes into the cast iron wing of the table saw. And then two bolts slip into the tracks of the fence track.

All finished!

Now I just need to make some sort of add on to the stock fence so I can use it for the router.

I just ordered some Sommerfeld router bits and the plan is to remodel the kitchen... can't wait to get started!

Nice set-up!

That Porter router is one of the best IMHO.

All you need to add to the router side of the fence is a thick piece of hardwood, oak or maple. It will act as both a fence and sacrificial piece around the router blade.

That table saw was an amazing deal.

I don't hate it but I don't love the 893. If it was cheap enough I'n not sure I could not buy it. How do you like the Woodpeckers insert? I'm still undecided between Rockler, Woodpeckers, & Kreg.

It looks and feels like quality. I haven't actually used it yet, but the eight adjustment screws to get it level work really well.

I think you're going to like that setup. I don't see any provisions for the type of fence you should have on the Ridgid unit. What are the plans?

I hope so... otherwise I'm going to have to lie about it or the wife would kill me! There is t-track on both the side and top of the fence so I figured I would use that to attach some sort of sacrificial fence. I have a lot of MDF left over, so I'll probably use that for the time being.

I've got the same table saw...have had it for 5 or 6 years and haven't had any issues with it. You'll definitely appreciate it's capabilities and power!

Awesome score!

I was able to finish the fence and while I was at it I decided to make a thien separator because the sawdust was getting ridiculous!

It seems to work really well... only the finest mdf dust gets into the vacuum.
