What comes to mind is that the ball level could essentially cover the grounds of several tools - traditional levels and protractors in some cases.
I cannot think of any disadvantages inherent of this design - can you guys? I suppose we'll see once people start buying these up and reviewing them online.
One thing that disappoints me, however - the promo video says "...from CH Hanson, a Great American Tool Company..." But the level is made in China...
