Anyone notice these are “coming soon”?
Looks like a nice addition to the existing line.

Link or picture? My Google fu didn’t turn up anything. I‘d be game for a cart more like a Mac or Snapon with drawers top to bottom and a opening top. The lower shelf on my current 5 drawer is my only complaint as it ends up as a **** catcher.

Harbor Freight teased them in their latest email ad where the carts were shadowed with coming soon across the picture. I'm interested in seeing build quality, size, and price. From sunex to homak already offer similar carts. If done right at a decent price, I think they will sell well.

I noticed them in the ad this morning when I woke up early to let my dogs out and happened to check me email on my phone. I hope they offer one in white. I would get one for my office to store my tools and keep them locked up.

My guess is $429.

I wish the 26x22 roller cabinet had this drawer layout instead of the skinny ones.

Edit: After seeing actual dimensions, i changed my guess.

someone on youtube commented that in their stores system it showed at $799..

I would rather not pay $800 for it, but I've had my eye on that style of cart from Snap On for some time. Obviously there is a quality difference, but my SO rep quoted me at $2,000 for that style. So I will definitely be giving these a look when they get released. I've been waiting for a suitable non-tool truck alternative for years.

There’s gonna be a lot of used 5-drawer HF tool carts for sale on craigs list real soon. That new cart looks really nice!
Not mine. While it looks nice, I just don't see a need for me. I prefer having that open area in the bottom for odds and ends. I don't have room in my garage for two of them, and mine is mainly as a straight cart to take mechanics tools out into the driveway for when I work on the cars. I don't have room in the garage to work on anything at the moment. Besides, if this does fall into the $400 range that will be more than double the price I paid for my 5 drawer.

I believe that $799 price is a placeholder. In the Reddit thread on this box someone mentioned that they did the same thing with the new metallic color Daytona jacks, putting them at $450 in the system until launch.

That could very well be honestly Because I can find used Snap-on and Matco equivalents all day for 1000-1200 and would rather go that route. If they could get it to say 450-499 then I think they'll have a far bigger market for these.

$799 would be a silly price, making it $300 more than the (larger) 44" tool chest.

It is essentially a 30x18" chest so I would expect to see it somewhere between the $309 of the 26x22" and $499 of the 44x22". At 18" depth it also works as a smaller companion to the Yukon branded 46x18" chests / cabinets.

As long as they price it reasonably I think it will be a nice addition to their tool storage options.

From the small tidbits of info I've come across it looks like it'll be as deep as the regular boxes at 22" not the carts at 18". I'm interested to see for sure as I keep eyeballing full drawer carts.

I was thinking the same thing. It appears to be more or less confirmed at an initial price of $800. If it stays that price, I'll have to pass. I don't personally need the mobility aspect of the box because I don't work in a shop these days. So a stationary 44" box for me would do just fine.

That said, while you're indeed correct this box will debut at $300 more than the already $500 44" box, it's actually bigger according to the spec's... The 44" is spec'd at 14,000 cubic inches, and this 34" rolling box is spec'd at 18,700 cubic inches.

Is that extra 4,700 cubic inches of space + mobility worth an extra $300+? Not for me.

Also, as others have eluded to, you can find Matco and Snap On (both USA made) on OfferUp, Craigslist, etc. for $800-$1,200. So for the same price or just a bit more, I would buy a USA made box with a tool truck brand name.

I'm really not sure what customer base HF has been trying to market to since their largely overpriced Icon line was introduced. If you do your home work and look around, you'll find better or equivalent options for a lot of these newer products at the same asking price or cheaper. This box will be no exception. And no, I don't want a HF credit card.

I really doubt these are going to be $800. HF employees already confirmed the pricing in the computer is not correct until the product is formally on the floor. For example, the new Daytona "Snap-On" jacks they released in different colors were over $350 in the system until they were on the floor.

It's probably a nice box, but HF built their brand on being price leader. As shown above, it seems like they've really gone away from that. I think it will be a much harder sell at $699 then they think. Like the ICON boxes, I imagine this will eventually come down in price. Not hating, as I own 5 of their boxes, but I got them before they went through their image inflation.

For $699, I'd rather just get a lower box for a cart and have a useful work surface on top. Maybe add a small vise.

Agreed. Not enough difference between $700 and $800... If they drop down to $500, I'll consider it, if I still need it at the time. Otherwise I'm sticking to my plan of going with the 44" once funds allow it.

There's not enough information out on the new cart for me to condemn it by price alone. :dunno:

I get that's it's a Harbor Freight unit and everyone thinks that in itself, should automatically drop the selling price. However, I think you need to compare the cart's pricing to Sunex, Homak, NAPA, OEM, and other Asian sourced carts. I also get that the us general 44 inch cart is the segment leader. However, there is demand for a six drawer cart, just look at how many there are on the market.

From the glimpses of the cart I've seen, I like the deeper (at least they appear deeper on the computer) drawer set up. I don't like skinny drawers on a cart. I also feel the casters look a little on the small side to me. I want to see the top till area. Is there pry bar storage on the sides? how deep is the top till? does it have the only open one drawer at a time safety feature? is there a power strip or holes to support the us general power strip?

Don't forget that Harbor Freight has marketing tools such as their inside track club or no interest credit card to drop the price on the cart even lower.

I doubt if I will ever own this cart but, as of this writing, I have more questions than answers.

Ive been procrastinating getting one of the Sunex 6 drawer carts for awhile now, so im definitely interested in this if the HF one can come in a little cheaper than the Sunex and i can just go to a store and pick it up without having to have it shipped freight. I'd be a happy buyer in the $500 range, and a begrudging buyer in the $6xx range, after that, it would be much less enticing with other similarly priced options.

Those look great, unless you are a jackass like me who can never remember to not pile **** on top of a lift top box.
Ooomph! i have a 5 drawer cart that i dont think i have had the top open more than a few inches to reach in and grab something in several years, with how much junk accumulated on top of it. Its not even good junk!

For auto techs its a pretty good price which is why this cart even exists in the first place I assume. Its considerably cheaper then tool truck carts. For your weekend warrior at home this cart doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the money unless you are constricted on space.

For an at home guy a US General 26" roller cab is cheaper, a 44" is cheaper, a 56" is cheaper when on sale, and if you have the space and can scrounge up a little more money you can swing a 72" on sale.

Perhaps this will hit closer to home whenever they have a sale on it or add it to the inside track club with discount. Though to me it seems like they have been having less frequent sales on some of their usuals lately. Ive been waiting for the 2 ton engine hoist to go back on sale and I haven't seen a sale on it in a while.

I would think most people would choose the 44" x 22" chest at the current $500 price over this new offering.

I'm looking for something with a smaller footprint that'll hold a good amount of sockets and other stuff, so these carts make sense for me.

Edit: I'm going to buy one of these carts to contain all of the good deals I've found on Garage Journal. It'll eventually go to my son if he want's it. He's around 15 months old. lol.
