Yea, if the tanks have been regularly drained, you should be okay. Horizontals don't seem to be worth as much as verticles. I bought an IR 80 gallon tank for $100 a month or so ago.

My 7.5 hp Husky 80 gal/two stage has an Emerson (made in Mexico I think) and I've not had any problems with it. Moderate home shop use for the past 4 years. Bought a blast cabinet this summer so the usage went way up recently.

I've not had any problems, FWIW

Do you really NEED this much compressor? If you do, that's fine. Otherwise, I think you would be better off buying a new one rated for more occasional use. For what the first one costs, you could buy a nice new Campbell Hausfeld 60 gallon single stage belt driven unit with a cast iron pump. For what you would have to dump into the Quincy to get it woking with household current, you could buy a new Campbell 80 gallon two stage. I LOVE Quincy compressors, but I don't need one.
