Ok ive had a 3 draw tool cart in my van , without the wheels , for the last 3-4 years. Last week i for got to fully close the lid and after dabbing the brakes all the draws endded up all over the van floor.unfortunatly it broke all the runners.
So today after openin the draws today and the draw smashing into the floor again , enough was enough.
I bought this £200 inc vat/tax as a special from a freinds company.

Ill post pics once i make a shelf in van secure it and fill it

a montezuma box. they were all originally made in montezuma kansas, usa. they are now imported but still seem to be well made. i have 4 of them in varying designs. yours seems to be slightly different than most but they all share the same basic design.

they are available under several different brands here. they all seem to have a slightly different twist but share the slant front and compartments that hold items in place when the cover is closed.

back in the day, 20 years ago or better i used to go to farm shows and that was one of the few ways to purchase them. they had a display that held a box fully loaded with tools. when the lid was closed, they could flip the box completely over. they would flip it over several times, open it up and there would never be more than a few items out of place. that box was flipped over 10's of thousands of times and never showed any structural damage. i have one that has logged well over 10,000 hours off road on combines tractors and trucks and another that has well over 100,000 miles on road and was well used when i got it. neither have required anything other than paint and weatherstrippiing.

unless you drive over it or drop something extremely heavy on it you will pass it on to your kids.

I was looking only for a secure van tool box that was sturdy, take up little room and that could be well organised. I had seen these last year and they dont seem to have taken off over here they were £368 Originally and steaderly dropped off, this came up at the right price. Nightmere is i hate moving outta one box and into another

Nice one Colin. Please post an update on what its like to use after a bit, I might get one for the few bits I have in the van if it works well for you.
I have everything in individual cases or tool rolls and its a pain finding anything.

Ive always jus used my old mac tool cwrt for the van, old thing that had lift up folding bits on either side, i had no use for them and took the out years ago.
How ever the more ive looked at these, and this is the smaller 26 inch , the more its appealled to me. Gonna start moving the bits over later.
