I've been wanting to get some more storage for my garage in addition to my HF 44 lower box.

My work wanted to get rid of this cabinet, so I jumped at the opportunity. Loaded it up in my truck immediately.

The best part, it was FREE!!!

Oh, you ****!!!

I attend an auction where that cabinet will routinely bring $1,000 assuming its in decent shape.

Wowsa . . . . with that great drawer layout, that is tremendous score !!

It's a once-in-lifetime SCORE for sure . . . . AND . . . YOU **** !!!

I'd say even at an auction, that would bring $500 to $600 minimum.

You REALLY DO . . . ****, ****, **** !!!!!

around here ppl are asking for about $900 for that 15-drawer. Look on eBay for the base cover and it comes with labels.

Post up some photos when you set it up

Got it unloaded and it absolutely drwarfs my HF 44. Good news is the Hansen trays fit!! Needs a good clean (I work in powdered metal and it gets everywhere) and some paint and I'll be selling this 44.

Need to source some dividers and figure out what kind of paint is best.

In the only town in Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg.
$700 minimum, yes 7 bills plus 18% for auction, sales tax, and possible moving fee...and he gets it for free!!! In NYC you never get anything for free.
The large draw should fit deep sockets easily, one draw will likely fit every socket you have.
If your counting on the top draw for socket, I would move it to the center, but it will take a bit of time. I am 6'6", the top draw is tough for me.

I'll trade you a brand new 44 for the Vidmar. Might throw some in some cash, too. The 44" is still in plastic wrap.

It's rare for me to give someone a you ****, but, man have I been wanting another Vidmar. Makes me drool every time I see someone else find one.
You ****! Box looks great and you will love it.
Don't think I've seen anyone else mention it, I will put a couple small pieces of cardboard under the front edges of the box so it will be tilted slightly backwards, making the drawers easier to push back in, and keep it from cascading if one of the drawers was to slide out on it's own.

Lol, thanks Mr. Strouty. I can get a snap-on all day long but it is hard to track down a vidmar without spending a bunch.
Around here the vidmars and listas are scarce as well. I usually end up travel a hundred miles or more to get mine. Never had a free one like the OP though.

I was at a auction a couple of weeks ago and witnessed someone pay 1500 for a 9 drawer Lista. Plus he had to pay 15% bp and 8% sales tax.

I was all in up to 75$ a drawer

It did have a few taps in it but for the most part empty

Btw

You ****

Enjoy

Same here. It took me over a year to find a good deal on a pair with right configuration and I had to travel 200mi to get it. I paid like $60/drawer. How much did you get yours for?

It depend on your style of cabinet but it's a fraction the cost of S-O boxes. S-O has its own niche but Lista is now in competing their market (not entirely) and much cheaper than S-O.

Trey, the most I have ever paid was $575. Most are around $450. So I guess between $30 and $50 per drawer for me.

Congrats, I would love to find and have the space for one of those, especially at that price. Although when people say they get something free from work it's kinda like getting something free from your father in law. Sure that specific transaction may be free, but in the big picture it's a bit muddy IMHO.

I have a good relationship with the building manager on our campus and I give back to my company a lot and work my *** off as an engineer.

Started cleaning it today. Needs a lot of elbow grease but I got all the bearings cleaned out with brake cleaner and the lock pulled to order keys. Hopefully this weekend I can clean it and paint it.

Any good source for handle ends or the labels that cover the handle screws?

If you need keys I just bought 2 for my Vidmar locker. Keys are like $10 ea and shipping is $10. I wanted a side locker at work but didn't want to pay snap on prices. Found a Vidmar locker with 4 shelves instead and love it. Enjoy you new sucky score.

Thanks, I got the lock code off the lock last night so I will order a pair of keys, and hopefully a new emblem
