Thinking about changing the v belt pulley to a flat belt pulley.
Anybody got Ideas on where to look?
Fleabay had none.
If I remember the belt surface id was around 6 and the shaft on the motor is 1.633 with a .3600 keyway.

I looked through my flat belt pulley pile but I don't have any small ones left. I have a couple idler pulleys which would work but they are set up for roller bearings in the bore and not for shaft mounting. I have seen regular three groove taper lock sheaves where the v-belt rims were turned off on a lathe leaving a slight convex surface on the core for a flat pulley to run. Also there are a lot of wooden flat belt pulleys in use. I've got one running on an old compressor and they work fine. Ed.

Here's a video that briefly shows a big alligator shear still in use at Eagle Suspensions. Alligator starts biting at :54 Sadly the alligator only bites for about 10 seconds on the video. But it's an interesting video about leaf springs.
