I just got back from picking up this vintage jointer for $75. It is in wonderful condition as-is but I will be doing a tear down to familiarize myself with it (my first jointer). LOVE that logo.

Awesome! I have (nearly) the same jointer - just an older version with the swirled aluminum trim and older badge. It weighs a ton doesn't it? But I love how it looks on the original stand.
Hopefully your resto calls for a different coat of paint?

Well, someone was a little too attached to Institutional Green.

That should be a great machine once you get it cleaned up.

Nice, usually the belt cover is gone, along with other things but that one looks pretty complete. I had an older one with the aluminum trim like CK but the table dovetail was broken and they were more than I wanted to pay at the time for something I probably won't use much. I ended up parting it out, still have the stand though.

yeah paint will be changed but the more I look at it the more the green is growing on me. :) Owner told me this came out of UC Berkeley's wood shop about 10 years ago.

"Top cleaned" how please? nice work!

Thanks! Nothing unusual. A 15min soak in a penetrating oil, scrape with a razor blade get off all the larger rust spots then 3 grits of steel wool with a final coat of a dry silicone spray (couldn't find my paste wax). It isnt perfect and there is a ring on the back table that will need some more sanding. But the top is nice and flat and will work well.
