New vise, free!!

Well we were cleaning up in the shop and found this vise under a bench, they said toss it, so I did right into the bed of my pickup, its been beat on pretty hard but I think I can make it nicer, the jaw slides out real smooth atleast, What do you think?

This looks like a flat rolled steel bar and not cast in one piece with the jaw. Difficult to judge by the pics but perhaps you can replace the slide.
