I need air hammer bits for my Snap On PH3050A as this thing seems to destroy my cheap Craftsman bits in short order. I keep reading how tough the Snap On bits are, but I'm having trouble justifying the cost. Me first thought was used bits on eBay but even used the 5 piece set I want is going for $130 or so. This seems crazy for used bits. What I've found is that the older PH2050 and 50B air hammers came in a case with bits and can usually be picked up for under $100. These bits seem to be black instead of, but are they otherwise the same? Or is it the newer bits that I want? I'm just thinking if the old ones are just as good, I can buy it, sell the air hammer, and probably only be into the bits for $60 to $70 instead of $130.

you buy the bits at full price so you can switch it out with your driver or warranty them through Snap-On corporate.

I've always considered my tapered punch that I grind down to keep a point as a consumable. What bits have you successfully warrantied?
