Greetings,

Is there a inexpensive way to grind (for the lack of a better word) the waviness out of a floor without destroying the whole floor?

Thanks,
Gary

How much out of whack is your floor? How do you plan to finish the floor when its level? Grinding to level a floor may expose aggregate within the concrete. This may not be desired if you are planning on sealing the floor or leaving unfinished.

Another solution may be pouring a self-leveling product over the floor even out the waves.

I plan on some kind of epoxy and then a sealer. It is enough out of wack that you can see it. I ask someone about the self leveler and they said it would just end up cracking. I may end up finishing it the way it is.

If you gradually use finer grinding wheels and plenty of water you can actually polish the floor to a great finish. I have done a few restaurant and showroom floors as features and if you really want to take the time you can define high traffic areas by leaving them less polished.
