...New to ME at least! =)

Manufactured in April of 1972, and Made in America.

Gotta set it up in the shop, maybe just hard wired to a disconnect, and off we go.

Anyone ever use or own one of these?

The best of prices....FREE.

Yea, the welder power cable is wired into some crazy wire, I have never seen anything like it and don't plan to keep it like that, red, black, white, blue, orange and purple. The red and black are maybe 6 or 8 gauge, and the others are 8 or 10....really strange cable.

I plan on wiring up a disconnect and hard wiring it up.

Ouch, sounds like you overpaid. :lol_hitti Just double check the wiring before you fire it up. 120v gets you going, 240v kinda *****. ;). Should be a good solid stick machine.

Just for kicks, here is the catalog page on it.

Not bad for free!

Those old buzz boxes can get some work done. I've burned a couple boxes of 6011 rod with an old lincoln buzzbox myself.

I would use thick leads for the thing if i were you. At least 4 or 2 gauge wire. Maybe 0. Make the stinger and ground leads 50 feet long. Trust me, it will come in handy. Those old machines are heavy and not very portable.

Can't beat the price . .. . FREE. That earns you accolades . . . YOU **** !!

Once you get the changes made so it's SAFE, first project needs to be a mobile cart on wheels for the ole girl.

Don't forget to post a pic in the Craftsman crowntop love thread.

I have the exact same machine which I also got for free. Even came with the little instruction book that has its own holder on the machine.

If you need pics of certain pages let me know via PM.

Its a good beginner machine but I have updated to an AC/DC machine and mine is now collecting dust.
