New Wilde flush fastener Pliers

what is not mentioned in the video is that like Wilde's standard pliers with the nut-and-bolt attachment, the "flush fastener" models can be re-tightened if they should ever loosen up.
I opted to go with the old-style nut-and-bolt type on several models I acquired recently, and noted (as mentioned in the video) the teeth in the jaws are machined to provide a pretty aggressive grip.

I have no idea what Amazon prices are. Best prices I found on Ebay were from Bowers Tool:

I might have opted for thier pliers instead of buying channellock to replace the cheap stuff I had. I wonder if these will show up in Tekton's lineup too, or if they will keep this to promote their own line. I really liked the idea of the slip joint pump style pliers. There is SO much play in the Chanellock grove style, makes me wonder why it's designed like that.

That video is from 2014. These pliers aren't that new.

Wilde makes most of them both ways: slip-joint and groove-joint. I got groove joints in the 5", 7", and 10" models and did not feel a lot of "play" in them:



They make a lot of stuff for other "brands" - they made pliers for Craftsman for years.
May be speculation on my part, but I think they're trying to build some brand recognition on their own - quite a hurdle to overcome when they've been kinda-sorta on the sidelines as a private label maker for so long and have limited distribution at the retail level.
Ebay, Amazon, and other online sellers may well change that.

Flush fastener pliers are not new despite what Wilde wants you to think. Utica made them years ago.

I'm clearly just too used to channnellock designs but the Wilde water pump pliers look kinda strange. Not in a bad or good way, just a little off.

Have a few pairs of their slip joint pliers and they work great. Wish they made some needle nose, not that my knipex pliers have ever let me down!

FWIW HJE had these cheaper (incl shipping) to me by $3 or so.

I never knew that's how Wilde was pronounced...I always assumed it was just "wild". Learned something new!

Because of what's posted below.

Wilde's system has the best of both worlds. You can tighten the joint over time as it loosens, like a bolted joint, but it's flush like a pressed joint.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't someone else to just pictures from the Wilde company saying that they had new design for a "flush fastener plier" that were coming out? I assumed these were them... Have never seen/heard of these before.

The answer will not be found on Google, and you won't get an answer from Wilde (or Proamerica, or Kastar) about what items they are supplying to Snap-on (or any other tool manufacturers) because of contractual agreements they have with their customers.

What I can state with confidence is that after phone conversations with people at Wilde (and Proamerica and Kastar), they all make all kinds of stuff for other tool companies, including the one sold out of big white panel trucks.
