I just bought the 1/2 in drive one that i read a little about and people seem to like. the guy says he will throw in the 1/4 one for 12 dollars total. realize this is the new one and not a vintage Williams. Any thoughts on this. I cant find a lot of info on it.

Which Williams ratchet? They have US and Taiwan made versions.
All are pretty good. The US made pearhead versions are 32-36 tooth and similiar to the old snap on 36 tooth models. Shop around for the best deal as some people price williams as if it was snap on, which it isn't.

When browseing the Williams catalog, always look for the red, white, and blue USA logo (if you care). No logo, the tool is imported.

Fed seems to have covered all the bases for you. Depending on the model number, it's either a 36-tooth QR (30001), or a 60-tooth ratchet (30011). Made in Taiwan. Probably as good as any other Taiwanese ratchet, which is to say that it's pretty decent and will do the job. If you don't mind the COO, it's an OK ratchet.

If the 1/4-inch is going to cost you $12, I don't think he's doing you any favors. That's about what the ratchet costs.

i believe it is the 30001. It was listed at 7.99 with 8 dollars shipping so he basically knocked off 4 dollars for shipping. Maybe ill just pass on it. I would rather have a nice williams or proto anyhow.

Good little ratchets - same as a Bluepoint. For $12 there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Personally I'd rather have the Taiwanese Williams over anything Proto makes.
