I am looking to install windows in my new metal building. However, they will not be coming with the building. I will be buying them at a Lowes instead. Any recommendations anyone has.

I did something simlair when I had my pole building put up - wanted non-standard sized windows, so I bought them from lowes and had the builder install them for me. Worked fine.

Building manufacturer will not be supplying any of the material. I was just going to box them in with Metal Studs and do my own trim. Thinking maybe i should order some extra trim just for the windows i install. Looking at install suggestions, what works what doesn't. Just because it is a manufacturers recommendation installation process does not mean it always works i have come to find out.

I did the same thing. Lowes was twice the price....I purchased from Menards. They own their own door/window company so there is no middle man.
I was looking for 14 transom windows to install up high for security reasons. They actually let a lot more light in than I expected. (12" x 48" single pane non-opening). Lowes wanted $157 each and Menards was $48 each.......choice was easy. You can see mine installed on my avatar picture.
Anyway just a ideal.

Later,
Steve

Do you have any photos of the windows installed on the inside with insulation? I live in CA and i am not sure how the building inspector will react to seeing all this additional framing inside for windows.

My builder offered to upgrade mine to fiberglass from aluminum. Insulation is probably going in today and sheeting is starting.

Hello,
I have lots of photos, I think these two show what you're needing.
Let me know if you need more.

Regards,
Steve
