New Workbench Build

My new work bench. With the exception of the drawers the entire bench is either recycled or re-purposed. I finished the bench today trying not to freak out while waiting for my son & gf to call from Boston.

I used recycled/reclaimed 2x4's for the top and support beams. The lower plywood shelf was scrap. My neighbor had a half-gallon of grey deck paint. The black plastic posts are from a 2x4 basics bench kit that was re-purposed. The aluminum bottom plate was a left over as well.

I did, however, pay for the Edsal drawers. Luckily I found a deal from Zoro.

I shouldn't have said 2x4's. It was all scrap wood, resembling 2x4's...lol. Pine, oak, birch, poplar.

What did you seal the top with?

I glued/clamped/allthreaded 2x4 for my workbench top, stronger than a garlic milkshake. I didn't finish mine like yours, nice.

Recycled and refurbished ? Damn man, that thing looks freaking awesome.


The only thing I would do is try to close in the area between the drawers and create a "pocket" area.
