Wow, very talented indeed :). I appreciate just how much effort you put into the organization! I will definitely need some of that once the new shop is finally done........ Thanks for sharing!

An update on wall organization... I've pretty much occupied all the French cleat wall space with tools and storage. The back wall is all Akro-Bins containing non-aircraft hardware like nails and wood screws, plus a couple of small shelving units where I didn't want to cover over existing electrical outlets with the steel Akro wall panels. I built a simple hammer rack which lives behind the vise:

The wall on the this side of the workshop is mostly storage for paint, glue, grease, and other substances. On the right is storage for sandpaper and related items, and on the left is my little machine-tool area:

Dedicated space for the little lathe and mill:

Storage for sandpaper sheets, sanding discs, and the like:

The opposite wall is all hanging tool storage, plus the previously pictured built-in cabinets for my Sortimo bins full of aircraft parts:

Wall o' clamps:

It was actually fun to build all these little tool hangers out of scrap wood. And since everything is on French cleats, rearranging the shop walls is a snap. I've already moved things around several times to get a more efficient layout, so I'm glad I went to the trouble of doing it this way.

Haven't updated this thread in a while, but overall I've been very happy with my French cleat storage walls. I've made a few minor additions here and there over the last couple years, and this weekend I finally decided to do something about the chaotic pile of cordless tools and batteries that is always cluttering up my shop. Funny how these things tend to accumulate once you get locked into a manufacturer's battery platform:

I built a drill/driver organizer unit that looks like every other one you've seen, and a second storage thing for the various tools that don't have a convenient pistol grip to hang from:

People tell me that I have a lot of clamps, but every time I do a project it seems like I never have enough!

My wife asked why there are 5 slots in the drill organizer but only 4 tools... I told her "I'm waiting for a sale!"
