I am finally taking bids on putting up a workshop. It will be a 30x50 with a
25x30 carport on front all metal. One guy said he wil put up a bolt up or a weld up. My question is-Which way is the best? In everyones opion.

First, Welcome to the Garage Journal. You have posted in the Gallery which means you owe us some picture rich updates as your project progresses. We like pictures.

As for bolt up or weld up I don't have a good answer. Around here virtually all steel framed buildings are bolt up. The only weld up I am familiar with was in a tread here on the GJ. It was also a Texas build so the practice may be regional.

Has your builder discussed the differences in terms of cost and results with you? I would be interested in knowing what you select and why.

I live north east houston outside of the beltway. Live on 1 1/3 acre. Plenty of room for this size building and am looking forward to get it up. Am also getting the 110 mph rating.

Sweet...Yea I keep forgetting about the east side off the beltway...yep..lots of room...and really opened up with the beltway getting done...Yes I think all of houston has the 110mph rating...and after Ike..I see why. There is a building company off the Beltway by you...and they have some deals on buildings right now...if your still price checking.
