New wrench set

I'm thinking about either grabbing the Carlyle long non slip set or maybe wrightgrips. Has anyone compared these two, how do they match up? Or should i maybe get another set? I've been wanting a long pattern wrench set

I am just curious. At what length does a conventional wrench be considered a Pattern wrench?

I dont have the Wrightgrips to compare them to...but i have the SO version...The beam is just a little thinner.. Which i like..but some might not... The Carlyle wrenches are very..very nice... They grip as good if not better than my SO ones..And i use the open end a lot more than most people probably do.. (hydraulics)... I took my SO longs home..thats how good the Carlyle are..

I don't know that there's any exact measurements out there, but "long pattern" wrenches are typically a couple inches longer than their "conventional" counterparts.

As an example:

A Snap-on OEXM150B 15mm "standard" length wrench is 231mm (9.1") long.
A Snap-on OEXLM15B 15mm "long" length wrench is 266mm long (10.5" long.

So, only 1.4" difference there, but, eh?

My Craftsman Professional wrenches are noticeably longer than my Craftsman raised-panel wrenches.

Personally, I prefer the longer wrenches for general work, and only use the shorter stuff if obstructions are an issue.

I've given up hope that Wright will introduce a long pattern set. I still bought a set of SAE and metric Wrightgrip wrenches because I can heave on them and not hurt my hands. I'm looking for a DBE wrench set to fulfill my long pattern desire.
