Looks good- the pitch of the roof is steeper than I am used to seeing, but I guess that's to shed the snow/ice (which we never see).

What's with the furring strips over the house wrap? I guess those are the attachment points for siding? What kind of siding are you going with?

Tres bien, et bonne chance avec la construction!

The pitch of the roof is to be the same as the pitch of the house...

yes the furring strip over the house wrap is to attach the siding...Siding will be Canexel

And if the pitch is steep is to have room upstairs

Thanks for the comment

Welcome aboard Francois! That's two great looking projects you have going on there. A very exciting time for you, I'm sure.

That must be great to be able to start from scratch. I've never had a garage, renting or owning that was large enough for my taste. Congratulations on the new place!

Nice place you have. I'd love to have that much space. What are the plans for finishing the interior? Got any pics of the house?

Canexel is a brand name for a wood fiber based siding...
It's hard as nails, and sparks literally fly when you cut it with a skilsaw.
You can buy it prepainted, and the paint on it is very strong and durable (baked in or something)
It's a very popular material in Canada. Other than expensive brick or bland sheet metal, Canexel is one of the most popular materials used on commercial buildings, such as schools, hospitals, etc.
