I am window shopping storage for my new garage. Read as much as I can on different options, cabinets, etc. Watched tons of videos/reviews.

So far I am settled on NewAge PRO line. Maybe HUSKY HD line?
Biggest issue now - color. I'd love to have Blue, but they don't come in blue.

Any comparable quality brands? I am OK with NewAge price point, I may go little higher if needed, but not much.
I reached out to Moduline, asking if their pricing comparable - answer is NO, without even trying to get my business. I guess 2x at least?

What are other decent quality brands out there that's not crazy expensive?

I have a lot of New Age Pro — like over 40’ and think they are pretty good. Not professional shop grade, but certainly home shop or DIYer grade. Another option would be to buy quality chests — US General 72” are fine, and build roof cabinets above them and build wood lockers around them.

In my case - I don't really need tool chests. And I don't even need working surface to be honest. This is second garage that is "nice" and it's only for parking and storage, not shop.

I am looking to get up to 24' of cabinets and want most of them to be "closets" - those tall ones. And add 2x8 shelfs above them (I have 11' ceiling). I need lot of storage split by "theme": Fishing, hunting, riding, etc

I faced the same issue; my existing NewAge cabinets are blue, and now I need more but they don't do blue anymore.

I've pretty much resigned myself to sticking with NewAge and selecting a different color (black maybe) instead of spending Ferrari money on what should be a Ford.

I am now thinking maybe I am doing something wrong. At the end of day - looks like all I need is 7x of their 42in "closets". Nothing else. They run $1200 each right now. Wonder what else I can get if all I need is decent looking sturdy wall of closet storage.

About 10yrs ago I bought some Sabre cabinets. They have held up very well. I believe they changed ownership several years ago, moved from Nevada to east coast. Noticed during recent visit to website their prices have doubled over the 10yrs. Not sure how competitive they are pricewise with NewAge, but they do come in blue.

I assume it's "Sabre" cabinets, right?

Price look very similar (slightly more). But their choices are much more limited. However, if I go with cabinets only - it might be just fine..

Wow, this is great news. I spent hours online trying to find something similar to NewAge in blue.

From what I can see I think they will look pretty good alongside my existing cabinets. Hopefully, I can catch a special offer, although their regular prices are comparable to current NA prices.

Thanks again!

Not just comparable. Look at their large locker. 48 wide (compare to 42 NA) - so they are pretty much the same. More limited in choices though.

I think New Age may have 48” Pro now. I have 36” and 42” but was looking recently at a sale and thought I saw 48”.

You're welcome. A note of caution, however. I'm transferring all the cabinets to a new detached workshop. In the process lost a couple ball bearings from one of the drawer sliders. Managed to get it working again, but have been trying to contact them this week to explore a replacement slider. They have been less than responsive so far. I believe they have an answering service as the phone rep keeps telling me she'll pass along my contact info. That said, as I noted mine are 10yrs old and except for the slider issue have been solid.

Yes, Saber Cabinets. That is their website.

My Cabinets are a combination of Home Depot’s Mills Pride and some metal cabinets that I rescued from the bone yard of a former employer.

Those FREE metal cabinets are very much envied by the visitors to my Work Shop.

Good cabinets for FREE is unbeatable.

Have you seen the ones from Garage Living in blue?

I haven't. Do tell :) Do you know if they are comparable to NewAge? I reached to Saber and they are comparable to NewAge and price is similar.

This "Harbor" - can't tell sizes/gauge/price..

I actually got local consulation from them and got estimates.
They estimated this lane for me:

It is more then a NewAge/Saber. Almost x1.8 (but include install)
Biggest problem - this lane does not have 48in lockers, only 36in. And I feel like I need large ones.

Their "Technica" lane supposedly have 48in lockers, I didn't get numbers yet, but it was much more according to him.

Last call - anyone? Or I am ordering Saber :)

P.S. According to rep - he doesn't consider NewAge "decent" but he said Saber is decent except that they have those big aluminum handles he is not big fan of. To me it sounds like Saber is good :)

You could get the line of cabinets that suits your needs and don't worry about the colour. Just find the vinyl wrap in the right, size and colour and have fun! Size, strength and price are way harder to change than the colour is my thought. Harry

Decided on Saber and they arrived today. They gave me a discount, all in all OK. Boxes came like on a pictures, but I pulled few pieces to check and they all good. Steel is pretty thick and strong. Of course will know more after removing all, but it does look like all good.

Construction, not size. Are they welded or bolt together?

They are bolt together for lockers. Bottom cabinets came assembled. I started unpacking and unfortunately one casualty already. I really hoped it wouldn't happen, but..

One of the bottom drawers - they did set something on top also it clearly marked everywhere not to stack

Took me about 8 hours to get stuff unpacked, and closets loosely assembled. I just got shells all bolted up but didn't tighten anything.

Yesterday took me and helper full day to get them installed. I used 1 1/2 angle iron. Bolted to every stud with solid screw. Probably overkill.
Walls is not straight of course, but we were able to make it work. Lockers bolt to each other, then we made sure all aligned and did final tightening on all of them.

They look nice, feel very solid and I think this will solve my storage needs. I can put some stuff on top as well.

I also have 2 cabinets where I will be installing sink. Currently work in process. Got countertop from Hoods.

Damage update:
ABF Freight did really bad job with delivery. Surprisingly only one base cabinet was damaged and random closet parts were damaged. Saber shipped replacement NEXT DAY. Excellent service from them. Now I am stuck with those remainder cabinets. I will salvage them of course if they leave it, but seems like ABF planning to pick them up (what are they going to do with it??)

Can you elaborate on the discount? How much, and how did you find it?

Those look real nice, looks like I'll be ordering some in the next few weeks.
Thanks again for keeping us posted on your progress.

I asked for it :) They advertise orders over 4k ship free. I had over 8k order. So I emailed with list of stuff I want to order and asked if they can give me discount. They said yes, I asked for slightly more and they sent me coupon code to apply on checkout.

Wouldn't publish numbers here for obvious reasons YMMV - but main thing is - it's not Amazon, they are negotiable.

Old thread, but...I am finally am ready to order additional cabinets.
Went to the Saber website but every cabinet in blue shows out of stock, with no indication that they will re-stock in blue.

I'm discouraged, to say the least, but I may just revert to plan B, which is NewAge Pro 3.0 in black or red.

Giving this some more thought.

We've decided to pivot back to NewAge for the rest of our cabinets.

As much as we wanted to keep everything blue, we want to get moving ASAP on finishing the garage; plus, the 36" wide NewAge lockers fit into our space much better than the 30" or 48" wide Saber units. Plus we really like our NewAge cabinets and we've received excellent customer service and support from them. So we pulled the trigger on the 14-piece NewAge Pro 3.0 package from Costco, in black with the wood benchtop surface. We felt that the price was competitive, and we like purchasing through Costco whenever possible.

It's been a few years since our last NewAge cabinet purchase, but I hope and expect that this one will go as well as our last one. Fingers crossed!

I'll keep this thread updated with the results.

I am finishing basement and have soffits in my new shop area. Saber won't fit. Even Newage PRO won't fit. Will go with NewAge bold series. Sux because those are only 18 inch deep

Not picking them up, would end end fraud when people figure out they can damage a cabinet to get a free one. They may have a scratch dent outlet out there somewhere.

They never did. Sent another inspector, and never came back. I ended up with extra closet and extra base cabinet with drawers. Base one was damaged on top, bent it back, if you don't know you won't notice under the counter lip. Closet same thing - it's bent on top/bottom but not visible.

In my case I took videos with driver, and driver was present and took pictures. It was done during transit. Thats why they say to inspect while driver is there. Otherwise I don't know if they would warranty it..

Update on our NewAge cabinet purchase, for anyone who may be interested...

Ordered the 14pc Pro 3.0 set from Costco on October 28. Estimated date of delivery at the time was two to three weeks. The next day I received follow-up confirmation email from NewAge confirming the order and reviewing the delivery process.

THREE DAYS later I received a phone call to schedule the delivery. The following day I received the cabinets. The driver was outstanding; he appeared to be familiar with this sort of NewAge delivery and backed his truck all the way up the driveway to my garage door, and CAREFULLY unloaded four pallets directly into my garage. All of the cartons showed ZERO signs of damage. Amazing!

We unwrapped/unpacked everything the next day. Not a scratch, dent or mark on any of the cabinets, and all of the hardware was present and accounted for.

Now, a word about quality. I had tempered my expectations, hoping at the most to receive a product at least as good as our original set of Performance Plus cabinets, which was their premium line at the time. I am pleased and amazed to note that these cabinets are even BETTER than the ones we bought in 2018. The fit, finish, and build quality far exceeds my expectations. The black matte finish has a much more even tone throughout than my blue PP cabinets. And these things are SOLID. Maybe not quite as heavy duty as Lista, but they are heads and tails above anything available in a big-box store. And considering, by my estimation, that I paid LESS (and that's NOT factoring in for inflation!) for this batch of cabinets than what I paid collectively for my PPs in 2018, I think it is an EXCELLENT value for the money.

If you are on the fence about NewAge Pro 3.0 cabinets, I can't really tell you what to do, but I will give them my highest recommendation.

Worth every penny.

My cabinets have still not arrived. The local hub out of Greer S.C. seems to be very inefficient. They have given me delivery dates and times 3 times now. It even once stated out for delivery which was Friday. They ended up back at the hub....again. There are no road issues from the hurricane. Now once more they are saying delivery will be on Nov 6th. Fingers crossed. I've been a little vocal but understanding to NewAge, the freight company and the hub. Just trying to make sure it doesn't get dropped through the cracks. I pray they arrive undamaged.

Can anyone who has purchased NewAge advise on the time to build? Seems they arrive unassembled. Considering these for a cargo trailer project:

Putting wheels or adjustable feet on took less then 10 minutes per base cabinet. 4 bolts per corner, 4 corners, you can do the math from there. Strictly hand tools, a wrench and 1/4" ratchet.
