NewAge upper wall cabinet gas struts

I just bought a home that has NewAge Performance Series cabinets installed, and the upper cabinets have blown struts.

I have seen a few threads related to this issue, but none seem to offer a true solution.

I pulled the old strut off to take measurements.

I did a bunch of research to find an acceptable replacement. I wanted a slightly longer rod end so that door would open fully as I’m a little taller and would hit my head with the full extension of the original struts.

I found this on Amazon for about $17 a set of two. They are 1/2 inch overall longer, but the body is the same length, the fully compressed dimension is the same as the original.

I have a little video I need to figure out how to post.

Cheers,
Dave

Well, I’m an idiot and deleted my previous post whilst trying to perform a simple edit, so here goes..,

We recently bought a house with installed NewAge Performance Series garage storage.

Of course, the upper cabinet struts are blown.

I have seen threads related, but none seem to provide a solid solution.

I removed one of the struts to take measurements.

My goals were to find a suitable replacement with a slightly longer rod end so I would get a full 90 degree door opening to avoid running into the door edge.

I found these on Amazon. They fit my need perfectly.

I hope this helps others with the same issue.

Cheers,
Dave

I posted a specific strut from Amazon here a while back for the same thing. The problem is that they come and go so much on the site that when I go back to that link, they don't exist anymore.

One of the new ones only lasted a little more than a year. Maybe I'll try one of yours.

I'm not sure exactly what happened but one of your thread needed approval in the "que." I approved it but see you had a similar thread already started, I merged them and you can edit the posts as needed.
