Hello all...........new to the site here. I've been wanting to build a shop for many years at our old house and the money never was right. My wife & I just moved into a new(er) home back mid summer of last year and am at that time where I can finally build my shop. I'm in the process of getting bids for a stick built shop and pricing a steel building as well. I can't decide on which way I want to go as to just pay a contractor and let him deal with the headaches which will cost me more or do the less expensive steel building and sub out all the work myself & have headaches but a little more money left in my pocket. I've been reading several posts on here & looking at many pics of the shops that have been built and man there are some nice ones out there! Anyway, whenever I can get plans nailed down, I hope to be able to post up my own build one day.

Hello I am new here as well, and I too am looking at building a garage soon. Have you looked into pole buildings? that might be another option for you.

Welcome from Wilson, NC!

Check out the link to my metal building in my signature. Very affordable compared to stick-built.
