New to site and just finished garage floor:
Decided to use a three part epoxy paint. I had the epoxy colored matched to the same color I used to paint the garage walls. The process is:
1) Etch your concrete with Muratic Acid and some water to open up the pours of the cement so that the primer will adhere well.
2) After rinsing off the acid, allow the cement to dry well.
3) Apply a good coat of a water base concrete primer. Again, allow to dry overnight.
4) Apply the epoxy, rolling on with a roller and exstension works best
5) While still wet, throw down the "sprinkles". You can mix and match any color(s) in the sprinkles. Note: Buy a lot so you can get solid coverage
6) Allow to dry, and then scrape off the excess and clean with a broom, and a blower so that you can finish it all off with the final step.
7) Apply a good coat of epoxy clear.
This will:
A) Protect the sprinkes
B) Give a nice gloss finish
C) Allow you to clean up oils stains and such easily
Allow to dry for 48-72 hours before moving anything back into the garage and also wait 7 days before you drive your cars on it. It will need to cure completely or you could pull it up.
Here are some pics I just took after it was finished.
