Newbie Building a 30X48 Pole Barn (update #11)

Well, I have been dreaming of the day that I can have a nice place to store my vehicles and be able to not work off of a dirt driveway. I got my permit to start work on my 30x48x12 pole barn, it will have 3 12x10 rollup doors and later a 4 post lift. I got a couple loads of dirt , because originally I was going to build a 30x30 a couple years ago. Got most of my lumber, waiting on trusses. Project will most likely take me 3 months or so, because of my work schedule, but I am happier than a pig in poo to get this project started.

Knocked it down a little and measured where to drill the holes for the posts. Will be drilling them later on this week after it drys up a bit.

can't wait to see your progress. I miss living in the South. The cars, the weather, the women... :)

A little update on my project. It is a little slow going, but I do have some progress. I am only getting to work on it one day a week and can't ever seem to find any helpers that are free for the day. Here are some shots.

Ah yes, Alabama, the home of Barber Motorsports Park:bounce::bounce:
Missed the correct exit on my way to the track & ended up in a tour of Downtown Birminngham at Rush hour. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone...:shocking:

Barber track on the other hand-now that I would recommend to everyone::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Looking forward to seeing this build-keep the pictures coming.

Looking good man! I see you added another truck back there. Great work man!

Yeah got a truck without rusted out driprails!!!!!

Looking good so far, keep it up.

Do you actually bleed blue when you cut yourself ?

Thanks, and yes you are correct on the blue. There is a chevy in them mix, the wifey drives a trailblazer because that is what she wanted. :lol_hitti

Now that you've got some material in the air I'd seriously consider getting some structure to the sides ASAP. At a minimum put some diagonal metal strapping between 1st and 2nd posts on each corner.
As it is, if you get a good stiff wind you're gonna be snapping posts.
