I've been lurking here for a short while... trying to soak up enough info on shop construction in order to become comfortable acting as a general contractor for my own shop build

I like OldCarGuy's shop... a LOT!
Its probably going to be a 20x40 shop flanked with a car-port on each side. One for the motorhome, the other for a couple trucks and/or future boat. Then the shop isn't clogged up all the time. Will be wrenching and fabricating mostly - machining too if I can get my hands on some used equipment. Planning for a heavy duty 2-post lift; fresh 200A hookup from the back of the property; RV hookups including bathroom and sewer; backup generator; bridge crane perhaps; may add a shipping container if I need extra space.
