Hello, Everyone. I named myself pipe_dreamer because at this point I'm still in that stage of planning a garage build. I came here for advice that could possibly make my pipe dream a reality.

thanks, John

Welcome. I almost made it out that far yesterday. I was at American Girl at the Natick Collection. First time there since the "Natick Mall" days. Wow!

cheers and keep dreaming.

Pipe....welcome from Ohio! Get yourself a note book and start writing down your "wants" and drawing your layout. I hand more notes, pictures from magazines, etc. for years till I was able to pull the trigger. Happy I did. My shop came out pretty well and I avoided the many pitfalls that I have read abouton this site. Plan well my friend. Good luck!

Thanks all for the pleasant reception… I started a post in the General Discussion section titled: “Garage Build Planning Stage 30x36”

I’d probably get more attention if I got some photos together showing the layout of the land, and its relationship to the house. Where I plan on building the garage. Maybe an image from the web of what I’m thinking of?
I’m not sure where to buy plans? Is that something you do locally? I mean find an engineer and ask him to make plans? Seems expensive…
Appreciate your input

There are lots of ideas on the Internet for garages. Im guessing you won't need plans unless they are required by your building/permit Dept.

PD: here's where i'd do a lot of reading and research on the garage gallery threads to find information and pictures of the garages that look like your dream garage. once you do find a few maybe ask questions in those threads about where they bought or found the plans if it isn't already mentioned.

there is a ton of information and help if you can't find what you are looking for.

good luck
