My name is Jim. I am a garageaholic.

Hi all!
After lurking around the web, I stumbled on this site....THIS IS THE SITE I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!!!! :bounce: THIS SITE ROCKS!
Here's some pics of mine.....just finished outside in Nov., working inside. Took twelve years of saving to get it. 58' X 24', 10' ceiling down, 8' upstairs, 10/12 pitch. 9' X 8' doors.
Great site!
~Jim
ps...colors/style had to match my house.....

Wow, very nicely done.

Where is the garage in relation to the house? Post some interior shots of the garage also if you get a chance.

thanks-
It's kind of hard to explain. Follow this link:
http://www.cathy-moore.com/house/stain.html#summary
(I have no affiliation with the website)
All I know is that it worked! I have all of $34. into it. $4 for the bag of "Copperas", and $30ish for the concrete sealer. Pics are with 3 coats "Copperas", 2 coats sealer

Thanks!-
Figured I had nothing to lose, so I'd give it a try. Toys:

1969 Plymouth Road Runner (497in.)
1942 Plymouth 4dr
2001 Dodge Ram Cummins TD
2004 Chrysler Crossfire

update: sold Crossfire...bought a `56 Dodge Coronet...turning into my hot rod

Re: newbie garage-UPDATED PICS!!

:beer:Well- I'm finally back. This time with some inside pics. After spending all last summer redoing the backyard(lots of stonework/concrete/plantings), I also finished the inside downstairs.

Most everything was either salvaged, or cheap. The cabinets, downstairs windows, countertops, incandescent lights, file cabinets, mini blinds, projector screen, all were salvaged.

This year- finish backyard, do upstairs garage.
click the link....The pics are somehow in reverse order?? :headscrat Start at the end?

OHHH- BTW-

I need a name for my garage, and don't want to use "Garagemahall" or "Mancave". I'm into Mopars. Any ideas?

No idea on a name, but I'd like to see some pics of it a little lighter in there. Looks fantastic. By the way the pics look, it looks like a nightclub or bar in there. LOL!!! I really like the garage, Beutiful workmanship. By the way the house looks, it looks like your neighbors and you are in a historic neighborhood with some strict codes. New England maybe? And does no one believe in gutters on a house or is it something that is not allowed by say a historical comittee. I noticed that you have no gutters on either the house or garage. It makes for a cleaner look, but aren't foundation water problems a concern? Now how about a tour of the upstairs of the garage and maybe a few more pics of the house tossed in too. LOL!!!

Thanks! Yes- that's in party mode- otherwise there are 23 4' t8 fixtures, plus 6 old "service" incandecents, which are on a dimmer. Very bright. Yes I'm in a historic district in Illinois. All my buildings have 6"x5" alum gutters. They're not on the garage yet in top pics. Water isn't a huge issue- being on a big hill. I don't even have a sump pump!

Great names! I'm digging "Plymouth Palace", "Chrysler Cave", Dodge Lodge", and "House of Mopar"

The color of my RR is V2"Hemi Orange(Dodge)" or V2"Tor Red"(Plymouth). Either one has a small amounth of gold pearl, from the factory.

jgabl, I know it's been 2.5 years since your last post and twice that long since you began it. My question is about your floor. I have a new 30x50 garage and am about to stain the floor. I have been seriously looking at the Iron Sulfate just as you did. But, I am curious about the sealer. Do you remember what sealer you used and how has it held up under your tires and other wear over these four or five years?
