Newbie saying hello,

Finally had time to clean up some of my late Grandfather's tools which led me to this website as well as the oft mentioned Alloy-Artifacts. This site is great........been a great help in identifying many of his tools.

Some pictures of my late Grandfather's tools (red box (S-K) 1/2 Dr.,blue box (S-K) 3/4 Dr.). Mostly JH Williams which was local to us and a few New Britain and Snap-On pieces mixed in. Though I have no immediate need for the 3/4" Dr. stuff, don't think I will ever part with them since they make me smile when I look at them.

My grandfather worked in the tool room at the local General Motors plant (think radiators, AC ,thermostats). He also as had his own Cat and later Oliver dozer and Ford dump truck parked at his house which he used after work and on weekends to do grading. Thus the need for many tools.

Welcome!!

Great tools! The 3/4 stuff is more useful then you think sometimes. I was removing a stuck pitman arm nut from a 1/2 ton Dodge and my impact broke. I broke out my grandfathers 3/4 drive set and with a little persuading was able to get it off.
