Hey guys just brought in some fill dirt the other day, I have about a 2' drop from one end of the building to the other. Ive read on here about grass under concrete and creating voids once it decays. My question is now that I just smoothed out 5 loads of fill over bahia grass, should I take it back up and remove the grass. I plan on backfilling with asphalt millings for now until next year some time I will pour concrete. Thank you for any replies.

IMHO, (worthless, but what the heck) sitting under dirt for a year before you level and pour should be minimal problem. But how much grass? We talking 18" of hay, or just a cut lawn's worth?

FWIW, generally one scrapes off the loam (top-soil) before doing a project like this. Top-soil doesn't make a good filler or based for concrete.
