I was looking to finalize my lighting for my garage, here are the details,

Size: 18' X 20'
Ceiling height: 10-11',
Finish: Fully drywalled
Lighting layout: See picture
Other details: Will have 4 post lift on right hand side
Lights/ballast: Need help with this, has to work with cold climate and hopefully available in Canada. As close to the ceiling as possible

Thanks in advance, this site is awesome!

At 10-11' height the recommended fixtures/LED tubes in the Best Light Fixture sticky would be a perfect choice.

Not any activity from the OP? Did you like the fixtures in the sticky? There are layouts very similiar or almost exactly twice the size of yours in the other sticky. Did you find one? Did you notice many of the posts in the sticky are updated frequently with current info?

Your photo shows your lights already installed??

I was curious what you chose. I expected you to pick three rows of lights between the cars and the walls. Each row would have 3 to 5 LED fixtures of 90 to 30 watts. That space is a little cramped for a lot of projects. Is the lift mostly for an extra parking space?

You will like LEDs in the cold, i'm always slightly amazed when I flip the switch and there's instant full light at 20F or less. I'm so trained to have buzzing flickering tubes or CFLs that are barely there :D

I could not find either the Maxlite and PLT fixtures in Canada, I just sent an email to Maxlite to see if they can help me find them. The photo was taken from someones project on here as an example of the layout I'm looking to use. What spacing should be used between the fixtures? I know I need to be 2 feet out from the walls.

The lift is used mostly to gain an extra spot and for winter storage of my ZR1.

I dont know much about Canadian rules. But, I know that they were very hesitant to allow LED replacement tubes. They were available in USA for a few years before you could get them in Canada. I suspect that the same may be true with non-ballasted fixtures.

I'm not Canadian but I have Canadian relatives. I believe the problem is that anything permitted has to have the Canadian certification and then that fixture can not be modified. You probably can't convert a fluorescent fixture to LED because that is a modification. I assume building a fixture from an LED ready fixture and adding LED bulbs might be the same as then you might be the manufacturer and responsible for certification.
Check all that with an expert from Canada, preferably someone local to you. Then figure out if you need to use certified fixtures.

The Chinese sell to anyone with cash. Between reading specs and comparing picture, you will find the equivelent. What do Canadian suppliers stock? I would do a Google Advanced Search for "Canada" and "LED" on this site. I remember the two resident lighting experts discussing Canadian LEDS once or twice.

Pick one between 40 and 90 watts. One row between cars. One row a few feet from each of the two walls. Fewer watts need more fixtures. Space evenly like the ones in the sticky.

That tall ceiling will be sweet even in a two car!
