Ahh I see we have some traction bars up on the wall there.... shouldnt they be on your car??????
I like the valve covers too. About how old are those?
Nice ride

Mopars have a semi-eliptic leaf spring with a short and very stiff (6 or 7 leaf) front section of the spring to resist spring wrap. They also have a snubber mounted on the top of the axle that contacts the floorpan to resist wrap. So, no, they shouldn't be on the car. They actually were on the car when I got it, covered in several layers of nasty paint. I had them chemically stripped then I restored them with new paint, hardware, and Lakewood decals. Why? Just for garage art. I'm neurotic. My current restoration project is an old metal hand tool box. Had to fabricate a new drop-in tray for it, plus bead blast and paint the whole thing. I have been thinking about putting the traction bars back on just to mess with the Mopar purists though. The valve covers are from the 70s/early-80s. I have sanded and wrinkle-painted the set on the left, along with the injection-style breather, and the set on the right has been bead blasted.
Wile1, good to see a familiar screen name in here. Nobody replied on ChargerMDs thread, so I wasn't sure if anybody read my comments or found them useful. Now I know.....
