I guess I must have joined GJ back in 2012, and never done anything with my account! I got an email the other day and got back into the account. So while my account says 2012 this is my first post haha.

I am located in Menasha WI, and work as a mechanic/restoration tech/dyno tech for a company called MPI in Neenah WI. We specialize in the restoration of Vintage Ferraris. We do quite a bit with the newer Ferraris and anything needing performance work and tuning (I run both a chassis and engine dyno). We also have a race team that caters to racing of vintage Ferraris that I serve as a mechanic on.

I'm always looking for tips and tricks to make my setup more efficient, always searching for tools to add to my horde, and love looking at some good old tool box ****!

Sounds like this is the site for me! Here to stay boys!

Welcome fellow Wisconsinite! I have heard MPI but was not sure were it was located. I use The Chrome Shop ( in Menasha ) for all my plating.

This forum is a wealth of information, enjoy!

Jim, I live up the road from The Chrome Shop. Less than a 3 minute drive! MPI is a town over from The Chrome Shop in Neenah! We use them for all our plating and stripping as well! Where do you work that you do chrome work?

And thanks for the welcome!

Pat: first off congrats for the control of joining and not posting your answers to all the questions i'm sure you know the answers to. now that you have officially joined again to answer our questions and ask those you want answers to can you give us some car **** with a few of those Ferraris you work on or drive?

i use the paperclip just above where we are writing our posts that attach pictures sort of like attaching pictures to emails.

if you have any questions about the picture posting or the forum just ask and we'd love to have you share your wisdom with us.

cheers

Welcome aboard. I am up north of you a bit, Green Bay. I too would love to see some of those Ferrari's. I look forward to hear about them.
Where does the team race? Just local, Road America, or traveling?

Thanks guys! We raced all over the country a few years back (before I worked here actually) because we had 5+ cars with competitive drivers. Now, we have scaled it back to just the vintage races. We race locally at Road America at private events, at Ferrari Nationals, (which comes to Road America about every 4 years and is open to the public) the Cavallino Classic (At Morosso/PBIR in Jupiter FL), and Laguna Seca. Some customers also race in road rallies such as the Colorado Grand, Quail, and Mille Miglia.

I will see about getting some pics on here for yall, I broke my phone and lost 95% of them about a month ago. Ill see if I can pull some from my FB. You are all welcome to check out the Facebook page or website for MPI as well! Plenty of pics on there too!

Welcome back to the forum! I'm also from Wisconsin, not too far from you.
MPI is a cool place & I have a couple friends that work (or have worked) there.
I thought about applying a number of times. I miss working on the exotics, we did quite a few where I used to work.

Road America is a great place to run a classic car. The Vintage races are a must see!

Hello and welcome to The Garage Journal. Do you ever come across those Ferrari tool kits in a pouch that comes with those cars? If so post some pictures please.

XxToolAholicxX I have run across several ranging from the newer ones like F360 and F355 tool kits, ranging all the way back to tool kits from 250's from the 50's. Those older tool kits can fetch tens of thousands of dollars. Ill see if I can snap a few photos of them at work sometime!

HCMFab9, Who all do you know from MPI

I worked with a guy named Curt for quite a few years.
He works in the bodyshop there (or at least he did the last time I talked to him)
I also worked with Chip, he's a (body) fabricator & he's been there for a long time.
I know a guy named Scott & I think he's a mechanic & he said he works "by the one next to the motorcycle junkyard"

If the discussion gets to Ferrari replicas, the name Mark Gerisch probably comes up. He worked there for a short time.
I worked for him part time when he had his big shop (mainly weekends if there was a big project that needed to get done
[usually Road America vintage race prep])
I know of several more, but they don't work there anymore.
