Newbie here from Milwaukee, Wisc. area. Came over from the Porsche 356 registry board where you were referred to. Now I'm hooked. Spent a couple of hours on the Harbor Freight thread, I'm a big fan. For a hobby mechanic like myself, it's a fabulous place to find tools that are useful, but not necessarily used very often. Their parts washer that you see in the pics is great and I couldn't be without the super oil drain collector like the pros use. Only holds 5 gallons, so it's easy for me take to a dump site.

In 2005 I began a restoration of a 1961 190 SL, have since acquired two other vintage cars. This necessitated building a hobby garage for myself and a place to put the landscape machinery that was cluttering up the daily driver garage. Garage had to coordinate nicely with the existing house and be "attached" to satisfy city codes for the size I wanted.

Put in a two post lift from www.americanautomotiveequipment.com, 9000 lb. and have had no problems. The floor is an epoxy slurry with quartz thrown in for grit and color. Installed by www.cmscmr.com, it's a fabulous product of industrial quality. I'd painted my daily driver garage three times with UCoatit and could never stop the paint from lifting under my tires over time. Cost is at least double, but it is forever. Looking forward to fun on the forum, pics of the garage attached.

(P.S.) I deleted a mispost from before in the Texas thread.

After building the garage I installed two fabulous six T5 bulb fixtures. They throw an incredible amount of light. Pics of a chip of floor that I had from installing new garage doors on the daily garage and the installer broke off a piece removing the old rail. Also, the Liftmaster jackshaft door opener is super.
