I have been browsing the local listings for a cheap drill press. I have used a few in my lifetime at work but never looked into buying one. Both of these are priced at $150. The Jet I can have for $100. These are the descriptions from the ads. Thoughts?

One is a bench top Jet “20" 3PH Jet Bench Top Drill Press good condition model JPD-14J” “though I think they meant JDP-14J”

The other is a rigid floor mount.

“Rigid Drill Press..

Yeah in the title for the jet, its said to be a 3 phase. It’s a very minimal doscription af and just the one photo on offer up. I figured I’d go look at it for $100 bucks. Seems like a good deal if all checked out. But I couldn’t find much information on the mat specific drill or a photo that looked similar???

How do you plan to deal with the 3 PH motor? I'm guessing you don't have 3 PH power? If so, you're looking at a motor swap, a phase converter, or a VFD, any one of which will bring the cost above the Ridgid. The motor on the JET looks like a cushion mount, not the best for a vertical mount like on a drill press.

Most of us don't have 3PH power. I'm not sure I understand that for a bench top drill press either. I'd pull the trigger on the Rigid if it was otherwise in good condition.
