Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd stick a quick post in saying hello to everyone. Stumbled across this cracking forum via the Pelican board, and Mr Olsens garage write-up.

I've just kicked-off my garage project - which is running in parallel with my engine rebuild/upgrade project (!!) - in the middle of the UK winter, lol....timing, never my best quality.

I'll perhaps start a thread over in the "Show your garage" forum that documents this...it won't be as stellar as Jacks, but it's going somewhere towards what I promised myself 13 years ago when I left an employer that had a terrific machining shop (...that was available to me!).

Cheers
Spencer.

Welcome to GJ spenny-b. Jack is GJ's ambassador to the internet. A lot of people follow him back here but not many of us have a garage as stellar as his so go ahead and post up that garage project of yours.

Thanks guys....LL, started reading your project write-up earlier today...until work got in the way, dagnammit. Certainly looks fantastic, will continue reading through!

Will certainly start documenting the project shortly. Have already made a couple of purchases to go inside; a Colchester Bantam 1600 (Mk1) lathe and an Elliot Progress No1 pillar drill, plus a Transwave converter to run them both off a single phase supply. The centre vehicle lift is already here, being stored under the car that will inhabit the original garage....all coming together nicely. This time next week we'll be only a day away from the extension being built. It's like Christmas all over again!

Cheers
