Do you have the land and what is the terrain like.
If you have a hill you could build it into the hill.
I know a guy that built a home in the mountains and is a car guy.
He partly excavated into a hillside. Built the garage on the ground level. Built the home on top but because of the hillside he walked out of the house on the back right onto ground level so he could have a big patio/outdoor space.
Really cool and worked great plus the garage was insulated by the ground
Also look into ICF construction with a full basement. A friend has that and thenplace is awesome

56: i like your handle since i'm a Bond fan and was born in 1956. sorry i don't know of a good earth home off hand that i have pictures of, but a few clients of mine built some and they seem to like it.

Hello, Thanks for all the replies and welcomes.
I have not acquired the land as yet, we have been looking in the Delaware County area for 1.5 to 2.0 acres on a country setting. Even farm land is expensive as we are one of the fastest growing counties in the USA. I have been researching on the information net... monolithicdome.org seems to be the go to guys. I like the ideas of a hillside facing south placement. I was wondering if anyone here has any exposure to this or actually built or live in one.
As for my handle: I'm old school and grew up with James Bond and my current Hot Rod is a 56 Chevy 210 that I cruise around in with my two Boxer dogs.
