Hey guys new here. Little background about me. 30 years old. Firefighter. About to have our first baby and just recently purchased a new build home. Really want to finish the garage on the new house but have no idea on where to begin. When it comes to this stuff I am clueless.

Have a 3 stall garage. (Will post pictures soon once we move in.) Basically as it stands I'm pretty sure it's just concrete and drywall sidings. No insulation or anything. I'm a big motorcycle guy and work on bikes a lot so was hoping to transform this garage into a good workspace. Definitely going to epoxy the floor but not sure what to do with the walls. Live in the NH area so if anyone knows any companies that do garage makeover type things let me know or if you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.!

Welcome to the Forum from the shore of San Diego Bay. My garages are dry walled. I have them painted an off white eggshell finish.

Being a retired Electrician I installed plenty of outlets and electric heaters in both my residence and workshop. The rentals have outlets, but no heat yet.

I know moving is a hectic time, but you only have once chance to have virgin concrete. It will be easiest to apply epoxy if you can do it before it gets parked on and has dirt, oil, and grease in it. If you think you might want the walls painted, that is also a do before move in kind of project. My attached garage is rough drywall with minimum mud and tape, no paint.

my detached garage has light gray paint about 4 feet up the walls, then a 4” red stripe and white above that on the walls and covering the whole ceiling.

Welcome. When we had our detached garage built last year once the concrete cured before I moved anything in it I applied a sealer to the concrete to prevent spills from staining the floor.
