Not really new to the site, but I figured I'd introduce myself.

I'm currently in process of buying my first post "I found Happiness" house with a detached garage.

I had one....but the source of my unhappiness kept it.....lol.

Welcome to the world of posting. What you said in your opening post reminded me of a joke, not sure who said it though. Whoever it was said he doesn't bother to get married, he just finds a woman he hates and buys her a house.
