Thought I'd introduce myself and throw up a pic of my new shop. I'm an avid car guy, do ALL of my own car work. I tend towards american muscle cars but don't dislike others. Most of my toys are Fords: '66 Mustang, '72 Gran Torino, '72 Gran Torino Sport, '87 Mustang LX w/T-tops. I drive a chevy truck, my fiance` drives a Nissan Xterra and has a VW Thing. I have also started to get into Welding and Fabricating lately.
Anyway, on to the shop. It is a 24'x40' pole barn with 10' walls (ceiling height actually ended up at 10'5"). Reinforced concrete floor and pad out front. 10'x9' garage door. fully insulated and I'm in the process of drywalling. 100 amp electric service. Lots of 20 amp outlets around the shop mounted about 4.5' off the floor. Lots of flourescent lighting. Ceiling fan, wood heat. Will have an 8'x8' office/clean room. It sits on about 3 feet of fill sand which is on probably about 50 feet of the natural sand.
I've got an IR 60 compressor for air. I'm planning on running a vertical up then down 1/2" copper hardline on the wall by the A/C to act as an air cooler before my cabinet sand blaster (will be teed in on a shutoff valve) and hose connection. An air filter/regulator will be inline before the blaster and outlet. I already have 100 feet of nice air hose and 90% of air tool use will be within 20 feet of the compressor so I'm not running hardline throughout the shop.
Also have an old Century 180 amp stick welder and am currently saving for a Millermatic 210 Mig welder.
That's enough for now I think.
