First I would like to say "cool site", very informative.....

Ok onto my question:

I just bought a new construction house w. a 2 car garage(about 24x25) with 14' ceilings. They installed standard 6x7 doors and the needed hardware. I will eventually be getting a 4 post lift and will need to move the tracks up or out of the way.... What do I do, any suggestions. The other part to my question is what type of opener to get. I like the idea of that iDrive opener that mounts directly on top of the header, but have read some pretty bad reviews... Plus I don't see they have one for my app (I have a regular spring type door as opposed to torsion setup). Again any suggestions..... Also I have my hands full with my other project and really do not feel like doing this stuff myself ( lazy!!) so if anyone can suggest a reputable person to do the job would be great.... I'm in central Jersey...

Thanks in advance

You need a high lift door kit installed. Basically just different track. Look around here and you will see some pics of them, should be less than $200 installed and any door installer can do it.

May I be the first to congratulate you on having 14 foot ceilings! I am dead jealous!

More than likely, the best choice for an opener in your situation is a commercial type opener that mounts at the end of the spring rod. It usually mounts to the header and attaches to the spring bar via chain and sprocket. Instead of pulling and pushing the door, it turns the rod.
